Overview
An organisation can customise the format of tax returns and tax payment notices. Customisation can be as simple as adding an organisation logo, or as complex as complete design of the format of a tax return.
Branded returns and payment notices
Branding can be added to default styled tax returns and payment notices, including some or all of the following:
- A logo in PNG format.
- Custom disclaimer wording.
- Inland Revenue privacy statement wording.
- A partner signature box.
- Branded cover and/or back page (provided as two separate documents).
- Font styles, colours, and sizes (must be specified in a style guide).
- Entity Addresses.
Note: Fonts must be chosen from the standard Microsoft font list. Fonts that require installation cannot be used.
Customised returns and payment notices
Templates for tax returns and payment notices can be fully customised to an organisation. There are three types of payment notices that can be customised: the provisional tax notice, the final provisional tax notice, and the terminal tax notice. Templates are managed by an organisation Administrator or a nominated contact. Any changes should go through them, as they apply across all users in an organisation. Once the Microsoft Word templates are ready, the Administrator or contact person can work with TaxLab Support to apply the changes in TaxLab.
ℹ️ Note: Customised templates require ongoing maintenance and technical skill. An organisation must have:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, including style sheets and merge fields
- A process to update and test templates annually
TaxLab does not support the maintenance or testing of customised templates.
