f you already have an account with Tax Management New Zealand (TMNZ), you have the option to synchronize the taxpayer data stored in your TMNZ account with the corresponding taxpayer (entity) in TaxLab.

Add your TMNZ account

To establish the connection with TMNZ, you need to add your TMNZ account to TaxLab. You only need to do this once. Once added, you will see a list of your TMNZ taxpayers within TaxLab. You can then link those taxpayers to the corresponding TaxLab entities.

  1. In TaxLab, go to the Home page.  Click the Settings tab.
  2. Click any of the connection options to open the Connections page.
  3. On the Connections page, click Add > Tax Management New Zealand.
  4. Log in to your TMNZ account.  You will then be redirected back to TaxLab.
  5. On the TaxLab Connections page, click the TMNZ  service link to view your TMNZ taxpayers.

Link a TMNZ taxpayer to a an entity

When you add your TMNZ account to TaxLab, you will see a list of your TMNZ taxpayers. You need to link those individual taxpayers to the corresponding TaxLab entities. When you create the link, by default, the system imports the taxpayer’s data from TMNZ .

  1. On the Tax Management New Zealand page, click the Settings buttonof the taxpayer you want to create the link for.
  2. Start typing the name of the corresponding TaxLab entity, then click the required entity in the list that displays.
  3. Click Save.

Activate or deactivate the entity

By activating the taxpayer, the data import function is enabled for that taxpayer. To disable the data import, deactivate the taxpayer.

  1. On the Tax Management New Zealand page, select the check box of the taxpayer you want to activate.
  2. Select the required option:
    • To activate the taxpayer, click the Activate button.
    • To deactivate the taxpayer, click the Deactivate button.
