Set up a Tax Management New Zealand integration

Overview

With TaxLab’s Tax Management New Zealand (TMNZ) integration you can have your clients TMNZ tax pooling transactions automatically imported into your entities in TaxLab. 

Only the user that set up the connection will be able to see it in TaxLab and recommend only setting up one connection per TMNZ account to prevent duplicate connections occurring. You will only be able to see entities that you have access to through your TMNZ login. 

We recommend that if your organisation runs a master TMNZ account that has access to all entities, that you use this login to set up the connection to TaxLab.

This article will take you through adding your TMNZ account to TaxLab and linking your entities to the connection.

Add your TMNZ account

  1. From your TaxLab home page, click Administration > Under Settings > click Integrations
  2. In Integrations, click Add > select Tax Management New Zealand.
  3. Log in to your TMNZ account.
  4. Review any terms and conditions or scopes.
  5. Click Allow access.

You will then be redirected back to your TaxLab Integrations page.

Link a TMNZ taxpayer to a an entity

Once you’ve added your TMNZ Integration you can link your entities to your corresponding TMNZ Taxpayers. On the TaxLab Connections page, click the TMNZ connection link to view your TMNZ taxpayers. 

  1. Locate the TMNZ client you want to connect and click the Settings buttonto the right of it.
  2. Start typing the name of the corresponding TaxLab entity, then click the required entity in the list that displays.
  3. Click Save.

Activate or deactivate the entity

By connecting an entity, the data import function is enabled for that taxpayer. To disable the data import, deactivate the taxpayer.

  1. On the Tax Management New Zealand page, select the check box of the taxpayer you want to activate.
  2. Select the required option:
    • To activate the taxpayer, click the Activate button.
    • To deactivate the taxpayer, click the Deactivate button.

Reset your TMNZ connection

  1. From your Home page, navigate to Settings > Connections > Tax Management New Zealand.
  2. Click the settings cog > Click Delete

From there you will need to follow the instructions to re-add your TMNZ connection. Your entities will still be linked once the connection has been added again.
