Overview
TaxLab provides multiple views for displaying employee benefit data: Value, FBT and GST. Dynamic search and filter functions are available to locate specific benefits by employee or other criteria. Benefits can be edited individually, in bulk within the same category, or across multiple categories.
View benefits
There are three ways to view benefits: by Value, FBT and GST. To change the view and display other data columns:
- From the Benefits screen, select the relevant Quarter tab.
- Select a benefit category to view.
- Select FBT, GST or Value as required, to display each view.
Viewing by value is the default, and will display the standard fields, along with the value of any contribution the employee has made, and any disregarded or exempt components.
The FBT view displays the cost centre, FBT percentage and calculated FBT on the benefit.
The GST view displays the cost centre, components of the benefit that are liable and not liable for GST, output rate, and output GST component.
Search and filter benefits
The search box at the top right of the screen allows dynamic search. As you type, the system updates the list of benefits with suggested results.
The filter function allows a more in-depth search. Benefits can be filtered by:
- First name
- Last name
- Category
- Cost Centre
- Employee Id
- Treatment
- Provided From and To
- Value exc GST
- GST rate
- Value Incl GST
- GST payable
Edit benefits
There are three ways to edit a benefit. You can edit or delete a single benefit, edit or delete multiple benefits in bulk within the same category, or edit or delete multiple benefits in bulk across different categories.
Edit a single benefit
- From the Benefits screen, select the relevant Quarter tab.
- Select the benefit category that contains the benefit to edit.
- Find and select the row of the benefit to edit > select Edit.
- Edit the benefit as required.
- Select Save.
Edit multiple benefits in the same benefit category
- From the Benefits screen, select the relevant Quarter tab.
- Select one of these options:
- To edit all of the benefits in the category: Select the check box of that category > select Edit .
- To edit some of the benefits in the category: Select the category to open it, find and select the rows of the benefits to edit > select Edit.
- Edit the benefits as required.
- Select Save changes to [x] benefits.
Edit multiple benefits in multiple benefit categories
- From the Benefits screen, select the relevant Quarter tab.
- Select the check boxes of the categories whose benefits you want to edit > Edit.
- Edit the benefits as required.
- Select Save changes to [x] benefits.
Delete a single benefit
- From the Benefits screen, select the relevant Quarter tab.
- Select the benefit category that contains the benefit you want to delete.
- Select one of these options:
- Select the row of the benefit you want to delete > select Delete.
- Select the check box on the benefit you want to delete > select Delete.
Delete multiple benefits in the same benefit category
- From the Benefits screen, select the relevant Quarter tab.
- Select one of these options:
- To edit all of the benefits in the category: Select the check box of that category, then select Delete.
- To edit some of the benefits in the category: Select the category to open it, select the check boxes of the benefits you want to delete, then select Delete.
Delete multiple benefits in multiple benefit categories
- From the Benefits screen, select the relevant Quarter tab.
- Select the check boxes of the benefit categories you want to delete.
- Select Delete.
