2025 returns

Transcripts for 2025 returns are not yet available.

We expect IR to release final return disclosure specifications for 2025 around December 2024. Consequently, transcripts are expected to be updated to reflect these changes in January 2025.

You cannot e-file before April

At Inland Revenue (IR), e-filing for each tax year begins in April. Before April, we collaborate with IR to incorporate any changes to return disclosures. While this process is underway, you can still prepare your returns. However, please note that return disclosures and branded return transcripts may undergo revisions until 1 April.

You can manually file sooner

Although you have the option to file your return sooner, we advise waiting until e-file becomes available in April. This ensures the accuracy and completeness of your return, unless early filing is absolutely necessary.
  1. Print a return transcript to use for client signatures and enter return data into myIR or on paper returns. The return transcript may contain new disclosure points that you cannot yet populate and is subject to change until finalised in April.
  2. Manually file the return through myIR or on a paper form. If you do not have the option to file for this tax year in myIR, contact IR to request that the tax year be opened to allow you to file.
  3. Mark the return as manually filed in TaxLab.

If e-file becomes available before you have filed the return, you can opt to e-file the return instead.

  1. From the File with IRD screen, click Set back to draft. The checksum may change due to the addition of new filing fields even if the new fields aren’t relevant to the client.
  2. Update Filing method to E-File and proceed to file.
  3. E-file an income tax return
